Supplements are not well regulated, so you’re kind of buying a cat in a bag. Also, vitamins and minerals are not absorbed on their own, but rather, symbiotically, which is why their absorbance is higher when eaten in the form of a whole food.
There are some vitamins and minerals that do help with acne: zinc, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin A
For zinc, oysters have a crazy high amount. Meat, fish, flax seeds, beans, oats, rye, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds – all great sources of zinc. Cucumbers are relatively high in zinc too.
Vitamin E – almonds are superb. Mangoes have vitamin E too, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, etc.
Vitamin C – literally any plant food that is not dried/preserves, so any fruit or vegetable. Kiwi and citrus are very high, but so are pumpkins, greens, potatoes, etc.
Vitamin A – eat your green and orange vegetables with a source of fat.
And hydrate! Water is so important. I also noticed huge improvements in my skin after I started sweating a lot (exercising regularly), so I highly recommend that – exercising is good for everyone.
